About the Journal
Current Issue
This edition introduces the first issue of the Innovative Journal of African Education (IJAE) for 2026, foregrounding the journal’s continued commitment to advancing contextually grounded, innovative, and socially responsive educational scholarship across Africa. The issue brings together diverse contributions that interrogate competence-based assessment, place-based experiential learning, sustainability-orientated pedagogies, and African literary linguistic analysis. Collectively, the papers reflect a growing emphasis on aligning educational practices with real-world contexts, community engagement, and culturally relevant frameworks. This edition situates these contributions within broader debates on educational transformation, equity, and sustainability in Africa. It further highlights IJAE’s role as a platform that bridges research, policy, and practice, while promoting interdisciplinary scholarship that responds to contemporary educational challenges.
